Advanced Free Just-Pay-Shipping Rules (will require you to set each item’s weight in your store)
Set up these shipping rates:
0.1 – $9.95
0.2 – $19.90
0.3 – $29.85
0.4 – $39.80
0.5 – $49.75
And have each free + shipping item set to weigh 0.1 pounds. It’s very rare that a customer orders more than 5 of a free + shipping item.
Next, set each other item in your store to weigh 2 pounds, and create these weight-based shipping options:
2.0 – Free
2.1 – $9.95
2.2 – $19.90
2.3 – $29.85
2.4 – $39.80
2.5 – $49.75
This way, if a customer adds 1 just-pay-shipping item (0.1 pounds), and 1 normal priced item that has free shipping (2 pounds) combined the weight would be 2.1 pounds – with a total shipping cost of $9.95. If a customer ordered 2 just-pay-shipping items (0.2 pounds) and 1 normal product, the total weight would be 2.2 pounds, for a total shipping cost of $19.90.
Please watch the video as you will need to make sure your shipping settings do not have an additional box weight added which I fix in the video. If this is not working for you that is most likely why.
Then continue on and set up additional ones:
4.0 – Free
4.1 – $9.95
4.2 – $19.90
4.3 – $29.85
4.4 – $39.80
4.5 – $49.75
If a customer’s cart weight total was 4 pounds, then we would expect them to have ordered 2 normal free-shipping items. If it is 4.1 pounds, that means they ordered 2 normal items, plus 1 free-just-pay-shipping item, for a total of $9.95.
Customers usually don’t order more than 5-10 items, so you can add shipping rates up to 20 pounds:
6.0 – Free
6.1 – $9.95
6.2 – $19.90
6.3 – $29.85
6.4 – $39.80
6.5 – $49.75
8.0 – Free
8.1 – $9.95
8.2 – $19.90
8.3 – $29.85
8.4 – $39.80
8.5 – $49.75
10.0 – Free
10.1 – $9.95
10.2 – $19.90
10.3 – $29.85
10.4 – $39.80
10.5 – $49.75
Etc.
